Description
Together with the new mo.Unit V.2 a big help to reduce 'cable clutter' and to simplify cable harnesses.
With this tiny cylinder in the steering tube - or at other suitable places - all handlebar fittings, switches and buttons are electrically connected.
The mo.Button digitally processes the signals and sends them via a single, thin cable to the mo.Unit V.2.
There the loads are switched on and off via the latest bus technology. All control lines go into the handlebars. This saves space, weight, work and time. For custom bikes with clean optics on the handlebars a must.
For understanding:
a) with 'normal' wiring of the handlebar switches the working current (e.g. light/indicator) is led directly over the handlebar switch. Therefore, due to the current strength, correspondingly large cable cross-sections must be routed from the fuse box to the switch and back to the consumer. This quickly results in thick cable harnesses. For custom bikes with little space or hidden electrics a 'No-Go'.
b) with the mo.Unit without mo.Button only a thin cable for each switch or button function would have to be led to the mo.Unit. Only minimal control pulses are transmitted here. All large loads and currents are switched directly at the mo.unit and fed directly to the consumer. A significant reduction and simplification of the wiring harness can already be achieved in this way. See also example circuit diagram here.
c) the mo.Unit V.2 in connection with the tiny mo.Button minimize the cable distances again! All switches/buttons on the handlebars are connected to the mo.button on the shortest way inside the handlebar. From the mo.Button only ONE thin cable is led to the mo.Unit. The loads and currents are connected - as explained above - directly to the mo.Unit V.2. Less cable is not possible! See also example circuit diagram with mo.Button here.
