Malossi, a leader and synonym for quality in the production of high-performance components for the world of scooters, has combined all these years of technological development into a single, small but extremely important detail, ready to equip the most classic scooter, the iconic Vespa.
The new cross member for classic ‘large frame’ Vespas is a small mechanical masterpiece that incorporates the latest technology to guarantee a part with extremely high mechanical characteristics, capable of withstanding stresses far greater than those usually experienced by the original component and capable of maintaining these characteristics unchanged over time.
The use of high-purity steel, combined with appropriate thermochemical treatment, allows for extremely high surface hardness and mechanical strength. These two characteristics make the crosshead extremely resistant to both contact wear and mechanical stress, especially in the case of high-performance engines.
Design using the most advanced CAD CAM systems has made it possible to review and optimise the profiles of the coupling cams to achieve greater fluidity, precision and safety in the use of the gear lever.
The stability and dimensional accuracy of the part are guaranteed within limits that cannot be achieved in any other way, thanks to the use of a CNC machining centre and the double quality control to which each part is subjected in order to guarantee the quality and performance expected of a Malossi part.
