excellent touring or commuting boot
I like these so much I have ordered another pair to replace the 12 year old ones that are wearing out.
I use them for touring and commuting. I can wear them in the office all day or through the most monumental Alpine thunder storm.
The short shaft makes it easy to get them on - I struggle with long boots due to a high instep that just won't get past the narrowing at the ankle.
There is a downside to short boots but not the fault of the Daytonas. Obviously a shorter shaft gove less shin protection so if a stone flicks there is more chamce it will hurt. Also, if you go through deep water on a bike without a full fairing, water may go up inside your trouser leg and flood over the top of the boot. Neither of these have happened very often in the last 12 years.
