How to measure your height:

Head circumference
Measure your head circumference by placing the tape measure horizontally around your head. Guide it about one centimetre above your eyebrows across your forehead and around the widest part at the back of your head. Make sure the tape stays at the same height all the way around and is neither slipping nor too tight so you get an accurate measurement.

Guter, schlichter Helm
Auf der Suche nach einem sportlichen Helm, ohne bunte Farbgebung und Schnickschnack bin ich auch den Bell Race Star gekommen. Ausschlaggebend, war auch das photochromatische Visier. Das Visier hat eine E-Nummer und ist also auch im EU Ausland zugelassen.
Der Helm entspricht den Größenangaben, in meinem Falle M, passt. Er ist sportlich eng ohne das er drückt. Ein Sena System ließ sich ohne Probleme einbauen. Allzu leise ist er nicht, aber auch nicht überdurchschnittlich laut. Das Visier funktioniert gut, auch im Tunnel. Tönt sich schnell, braucht aber etwas um heller zu werden. Es kennt auch nur 2 Positionen auf oder zu, eine Rastung gibt es nicht. Das Einklinken geht über eine Lasche am Visier, allerdings ohne Verschluss am Helm. Das "klongt" ziemlich laut. Belüftung ist ok, bei knapp 30 °C auf der Bahn keinen Hitzestau. Und es zieht nicht im Helm. Aerodynamik ist auch gut, da gibt es keine Kritik, bei unverkleideter Maschine. Schön finde ich, das entgegen der Abbildung auf den Seiten hier, keine "Bell" Aufdrucke sind. Nur das auf der Stirn und das ist sehr dezent. Der Helm kommt mit einer, überraschend, schönen Tasche. Kein High-End, aber durchaus gut gemacht. Damit kann der Helm sicher gelagert oder zur Rennstrecke transportiert werden. Schön. Es liegen noch 4 x weiße Reflektionsaufkleber bei, wie sie in Frankreich gefordert werden. Schön wären allerdings schwarze Reflexfolien gewesen, bei einem schwarzen Helm. Alles in allem ein puristischer Helm, der gut aussieht, seinem Anspruch als sportlichem Helm gerecht wird und mit guter Ausstattung kommt. Nicht der günstigste, aber für mich sein Geld wert.
