The airbag racing vest has been specially developed for the race track. Attention has been focused on aerodynamics with a perfect fit and a space for the suits hump. For more security, the vest is made with abrasion resistant materials.

• the greatest feature of the Helite GP-Air is the neckline at the back; this allows the waistcoat to be worn over racing suits with large aerodynamic cushions
• in the front the waistcoat is closed with several velcro fasteners, which are easy to handle even with gloves
• Helite has optimised the release time of the waistcoat to 75 ms so that the 18 litres of protection volume are available even faster
• like the other Helite systems, GP-Air provides protection for the neck, spine, chest, pelvis, coccyx, head, collarbone and internal organs
• in addition to immense impact protection, the airbag stabilises the entire upper body against twisting and effectively supports the neck and back in a crash
• this waistcoat was developed and tested by racers for racers The optimal solution for those who also place great value on optimum protection on the race track

Specifications:

Activation:

• It is activated by a rip cord which is firmly attached to the vehicle and is inserted into the waistcoat when climbing on. It is important that the rip cord is optimally adjusted. This means as long as necessary but as short as possible.
• An unintentional release by forgetting to release the rip cord when getting off the vehicle is very unlikely, as a force of about 300Nm is needed to activate the airbag. By replacing the CO2 cartridge the waistcoat is immediately ready for use again after a fall.

Protection:

• SAS-TEC EN1621-2 back protector
• very high abrasion resistance due to 1.2 mm thick cowhide and foam to protect the airbag chamber
• in addition to the obligatory Turtle protector in the back area, GP Air has an additional chest protector which also covers the release unit and the capsule
