Alpinestars Harok Drystar Motorcycle Textile Jacket

Die Jacke hat tolle Funktionen, viele Taschen und abnehmbare Ärmel. Die Kängurutasche finde ich super praktisch! Auch mit Handschuhen kommt man schnell mal an das Portmonee um die Mautstelle zu bezahlen. Die Belüftung an Brust und Rücken funktionieren hervorragend. Die Ärmel lassen sich abnehmen und durch die verbauten Protektoren bleibt der Schutz erhalten. Ich wurde mir allerdings zusätzliche Belüftungen an den Ärmel wünschen. Leider ist es mit Ärmeln recht warm und ohne bei längeren Fahrten doch recht kühl. Hier waren kleine Zusatz Reißverschlüsse zur Belüftung eine hervorragende Ergänzung. Dann wäre die Jacke der absolute Allrounder. Im Regen halt sie lange dicht und die mitgelieferte Regenjacke lasst sich problemlos auch drüber ziehen. Bei 183cm und breiten Schultern sitzt 2xl noch gut aber viel Luft ist da nicht mehr. Der asymmetrische Reißverschluss ist anfangs etwas gewöhnungsbedurftigt, nach kurzer Eingewöhnung aber kein Problem. Der Kragen durfte etwas überarbeitet werden. Hier kratzen ab und zu mal die Nähte bzw. Klettverschluesse. Alles in allem bin ich sehr zufrieden und kann die Jacke klar empfehlen….

The jacket has a lot of options and tries to cover a lot of scenarios, but in doing so it becomes a very strange jacket. The fit is weird. Once you are on the bike it is ok, but putting it on is a strange experience - almost like the jacket isn't made for humans. Over many years of driving bikes I have owned and worn many jackets. This is without doubt the strangest fitting jacket I have ever owned. Will take a lot of getting used to. The jacket is designed to deal with both hot and cold temperatures, and to some degree it does achieve that - for cold weather it is pretty good, especially when the waterproof separate (included) thin jacket is worn over. For hot weather it is ok I guess, it has reasonable ventilation and if used with a coolvest it should be fine - I still have to try this but I believe it will work ok. For everything between hot and cold the jacket doesn't really work. Unless it is warm enough to take off the outer sleeves, the jacket is too warm for comfort. I think you have to have a regular jacket for temperatures between 18 and 26 celcius - in that range the jacket just doesn't work that well. The jacket is really heavy. I haven't weighed it but it is the heaviest jacket I have ever worn, and I have a proper leather biking jacket - which weighs about half as much. Would I buy it again? I don't think so. For this price two dedicated jackets, one for winter and one for summer would have been a better choice.

This is an extremely good adventure jacket: versatile and effective. Two minor bad points: the offset zip takes a little getting used to (using the kidney belt makes it easier), and sometimes the velcro patch at the collar scratches my neck if it isn't done up just right. The rest is all good! It's comparatively warm, because there's no zip in the middle to let cold air in - great in cooler weather. The venting afforded by the front and rear panels is outstanding; far better than I expected. In slower off-road conditions in hot weather, removing the sleeves offers additional effective cooling. I've subsequently bought the chest protector, and that does not seem to reduce the venting at all. Part of the reason I bought this jacket was to complement my A* Tech Air 5 vest. This jacket does work better with it than my older other brand jacket (which was great for 6 years before I bought the air bag). The cuffs don't suit gauntlet style racing gloves. You'll need short-cuff or wider long cuff gloves. Haven't tested the waterproof jacket yet.

I am 2m tall and 110 kg and the 3XL size just fitted perfect. Great quality and would definitely recommend it.
