S-TR1 is the sport boot that protects the foot, joint and shin, for the perfect balance between safety and comfort. Protection is provided by the front rigid TPU shield that works in synergy with the lower soft padding. The movement of the joint is controlled by the TCS (Torsion Control System), a joint specifically designed to accompany the ankle in its optimal range of motion, avoiding unwanted twisting, overstretching and overbending. The Groundtrax® sole with specially designed tread provides perfect grip on the bike and on the asphalt.

schöner Stiefel, suboptimal um ihn unter der Hose zu tragen
Der Stiefel trägt sich für jmd der ansonsten perfekt zum Alpinestars Leisten passt perfekt. Der gebotene Schutz ist gut, der Fuß scheint etwas besser gegen Knicken und Drehung geschützt zu sein als bei dem SXM 6V3, den ich alternativ bestellt hatte. Auch die Zehenkappe machte einen etwas steiferen Eindruck. Ob das im Fall des Falles einen Unterschied macht, sei dahingestellt.
Letztenendes habe ich ihn wegen des Komforts und der für einen Sportstiefel schlanken und vergleichsweisen unauffällige Erscheinung gekauft.
Leider scheuert der Schuh bei jedem Schaltvorgang an der Stelle an der Wade, wo sich der Schaft öffnen und ein Gummiband eingearbeitet ist. Das ist mir bei der ausführlichen Anprobe nicht aufgefallen, da die Stelle weder Rauh noch scharfkantig ist. Leider führt die stetige Reibung dieser Unebenheit bei jedem Schaltvorgang aber zur Reizung der Haut und starken Schmerzen.
