Merlin has worked with Scottish mill Halley Stevensons, who famously produce the silk wax cotton fabric used in Merlin garments, as well as Belstaff and Barbour, to create a unique fabric sub range within the Merlin Heritage range.
This new fabric Cotec has a soft, slightly oily/damp handle with a modern matt appearance. The cloth maintains a clean, uniform appearance. This unique fabric is a modern interpretation of traditional silk wax, with better breathability, ease of use in the long term and critically better safety performance. Given all this it is even more amazing that the fabric has a finished 8oz weight in contrast to the traditional silkwax which has a finished weight of 12oz.
These new Cotec garments also now come with the newly licensed to Merlin, D30 impact protectors pre-fitted to shoulders and elbows. Merlin has chosen the latest LP1 D30 armour which has a highly ventilated construction, safetylevel 1 inclusive of the optional high and low temperature tests as well as the signature D30 flexibility that hardens on impact.

J'ai acheté cette veste il y a deux ans et j'en étais très content jusqu'à présent. C'est vraiment une très belle veste mais la fermeture éclair est en train de lâcher, les crans se séparent de la bande support, je suis bon pour la faire changer. Je trouve ça déplorable surtout que la garantie est tout juste dépassée.

Beste Jacke für Tourer, die ich je hatte.
Habe die Jacke sehr zügig nach der Bestellung erhalten, gut verpackt und im besten Zustand, Merlin Edale schwarz und in Größe "L". Ich selbst bin 1,80m groß , 84kg schwer und trage normal die Konfektionsgröße "L", die Jacke passt sehr gut und ist sehr bequem. Verarbeitung und Qualität ...Top, Bei kaltem Wetter durfte ich noch das Innenfutter testen, sehr gut warm aber kein Schwitzen. bei warmen Wetter und ohne Innenfutter sind die Belüftungsschlitze sehr wirksam. Den Rückenprotektor habe ich entfernt, da er mir zu kurz erscheint und durch einen separaten Protektor ersetzt. Taschen und deren Druckknöpfe sind ausreichend und funktional, gut, der Hauptreißverschluss ist ein bisschen zierlich, gerade wenn man Handschuhe an hat aber das ist jammern auf hohen Niveau. Fazit für mich.... beste Jacke für Tourer, die ich je hatte!
P.S. Fahre eine Triumph Scrambler 900 und bin 66 Jahre alt.

Sehr Gut
Diese Jacke hält was sie verspricht, sehr angenehm zu tragen! bin damit 2800km in 7Tagen gefahren und es war jedes Wetter dabei. Ich würde sie immer wieder kaufen.

Sehr bequeme Jacke, guter Regenschutz.
Die Jacke ist sehr bequem und bisher absolut regendicht. Viele Taschen um alles Mögliche mitzunehmen.
Leider ist der Reißverschluss nicht ordentlich vernäht und war schon im Auslieferungszustand an einer Stelle ausgerissen.
Ansonsten top zufrieden.
