It is thanks to the Hixons’ leather finish, texture and appearance that it became one of Merlin’s most successful garments. Along with a great fit the Hixon became the ‘go to’ option for spring summer riding. Alton has been introduced to sit alongside the Hixon, with the exact same leather finish, available in black and brown also but with a less café racer style. With removal of the off white racing panels and addition of filled horizontal sections with zip guard strap the Alton has a different feel all together. Inside you will also find a complimentary horizontal stitch gilet thermal lining, again different to Hixon with its classic diamond stitch liner.The tested shoulder and elbow armour comes as standard again and a foam back pad in a rear pocket, ready for the rider to upgrade to protection should it be desired. High quality YKK zips are used throughout and there is also a short connecting zip to match this jacket up in the same with our Route One denim jeans. Good looking jacket, didn't fit me
I ordered this jacket in brown. It arrived fast and looked good. Matte leather and stylish. Unfortunately, the L I ordered didn't fit. I'm 182 / 83, and the jacket was too small overall. As it was on sale, I couldn't order a size larger since there were none left so I had to return it.

Sieht toll aus, Funktion und Passform na ja.
Die Jacke ist sehr stylish. Nicht überdesignt. Passt aber nicht: für mich (1,87, 81 kg) ist die Jacke am Rücken dann doch zu kurz, wenn man etwas sportlicher auf dem Motorrad sitzt. Außerdem ist der Kragenabschluss derart eng, dass es auf den Adamsapfel drückt. Die Lasche lässt sich auch nicht befestigen, sodass sie während der Fahrt fröhlich im Wind flattern (und schlagen) würde. Wünschenswert wäre zudem etwas mehr Beweglichkeit in den Schultern, da ist sie sehr steif. Da ich damit fahren und nicht (nur) posen will geht sie leider zurück.

Super good jacket
I love it. The quality is very high, its a kind of suede leather, not shiny. Which gives it a cool look. The quality is superb, the size fits true to the size chart. Its very comfortable and looks very good on me. Lots of compliments. I ride it in cold weather and no wind or cold gets inside. Its waterfroof up to moderate rain for half an hour ride but still a superb jacket.
